Mumbai, January 5 - Director Anil Sharma is elated with the blockbuster response his upcoming directorial Gadar 2 is getting on social media. The movie is the sequel to one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" (2001), featuring Sunny Deol in the leading role.

The sequel was announced in 2021 with Sunny Deol as Tara Singh returning to reprise his role along with Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. Zee Studios recently shared a video clip of the films it will be releasing this year, and in between, there was a blink-and-miss appearance of Sunny's first look, lifting a cartwheel to fight baddies.



The first look of Sunny's Tara Singh stormed social media as fans started trending #Gadar2 on Twitter and expressed their excitement to watch the movie on the big screen. Anil Sharma noticed this blockbuster response and thanked the fans for the same. The filmmaker also confirmed that the release date will be announced very soon.

"Gadar 2" is produced by Zee Studios and Anil Sharma Productions. It is a romantic period action-drama film, a sequel to "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", which grossed a whopping approx. 133 crores worldwide in 2001.
