Box Office: 'Kuberaa' Scored Record Opening Weekend For Dhanush And Nagarjuna

Hyderabad, June 23 - Director Sekhar Kammula's Telugu-Tamil drama thriller Kuberaa starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna scored an excellent opening weekend, exceeding expectations at the domestic and worldwide box office.

Kuberaa recorded strong occupancies throughout the weekend, especially for the Telugu version. The movie opened to an excellent collection on Friday, grossing over 17 crores domestically. Of which, the Telugu version generated over 11.50 crores gross, which is around 65% of the total business.



The opening day biz was driven by strong word of mouth, which translated into bigger numbers on Saturday and Sunday. The film finished the 3-day opening weekend with a gross collection of around 57 crores, including around 40 crores gross in the Telugu version.

Overseas, Kuberaa grossed an estimated 23 crores, for a worldwide total of around 80 crores. This is the biggest opening weekend for Dhanush and Nagarjuna. The film reportedly needs to gross around 120 crores to emerge as a success, and this target looks very much achievable given the weekend trend.
