Book My Show Reveals Top Ten Movies With Highest Number of Tickets Sold On Its Platform In 2022

Mumbai, December 20 - Book My Show, the leading ticketing platform in India, has unveiled the list of the top ten movies with the highest number of tickets sold on its platform in 2022. This year, the Indian film industry witnessed some of the biggest all-time blockbusters which scored huge collections at the box office.
BMS didn't reveal the number of tickets sold but confirmed that Kannada biggie KGF: Chapter 2 led its ticket counts in 2022. The Yash-starrer is the highest-grossing Indian film of the year with over 1200 crores at the global box office. The movie scored an all-time record of selling 2.1 million tickets in a single day on BMS.
SS Rajamouli's path-breaking period action drama film RRR is the second most-watched Indian movie this year, and also sold the second-highest number of tickets on BMS. The Jr. NTR and Ram Charan-fronted has so far grossed over 1140 crores at the worldwide box office and is the second highest-grossing Indian movie of the year.
Hombale Films has been the most profitable production company of 2022 and along with "KGF 2", the studio's Kantara stunned everyone with its phenomenal box office run globally. Made on a budget of approx. 16 crores, the Rishab Shetty-starrer grossed approx. 410 crores worldwide and is at number 3 on BMS in the ticket sold.
Vivek Agnihotri's drama The Kashmir Files, which shocked the nation by showing one of the darkest chapters of Indian history, scored the 4th highest number of tickets sold on BMS. The movie grossed over 335 crores worldwide against a budget of around 20 crores and is currently the second highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 2022.
Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan Part - 1, which grossed approx. 490 crores worldwide, is at number 5 on BMS. Director Ayan Mukerji's ambitious Brahmastra Part One: Shiva sold the 6th highest number of tickets and grossed approx. 431 crores globally. Kamal Haasan's biggest box office blockbuster Vikram sold the 7th highest number of tickets on BMS and grossed approx. 414 crores worldwide.
Two of the biggest blockbusters, Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhuliayaa 2 (₹ 266 Cr) and Ajay Devgn's currently in theaters Drishyam 2 (₹ 315 Cr***) are currently at number 8 and 9, respectively, on BMS. Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange 2 sold enough tickets to take the 10th spot on BMS.
