Dwayne Johnson's superhero film titled "Black Adam" was released today (October 20) in India. This Black Adam movie is a spin-off from Shazam! (2019) and the 11th film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Let's see whether it reached up to the hype or not.
STORY:
The story sets in a period of 5000 years ago at a place called Kahndaq. The people of Kahndaq are under the slavery of the cruel Tyranny ruler Ankot. A Crown called Sabbac is supposed to give enormous power which is made up of rare metal Eternal. In order to get huge volumes of eternal, Ankot uses his people as slaves and makes them undergo mining activities brutally to extract Eternal. Teth Adam Hurst, son of Teth Adam led a revolution to give freedom to the people. The King captures Hurut and just before his execution, Hurut acquires superpowers from Shazam wizards and transfers the same to his father Adam. Adam fights with the Tyranny ruler and saves his people. Unfortunately, he will be locked inside a place by the Shazam wizards as Adam uses his superpowers for a personal grudge. At present, the people of Kahndaq still have no freedom and are occupied by intergang. How Adam stands by the people and saves them using his team forms the rest of the story.
ARTISTS PERFORMANCES:
Dwayne Johnson lived in the character of Black Adam. The character transformation and various shades are superbly portrayed by him. Starting with Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson will be the next big thing from DC. Pierce Brosnan is rocking and his character will be loved by one and all. Also, Hodge as Hawkman is terrific. Noah Centineo as Smasher is hilarious. Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone is decent. Others played their roles well.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS:
The cinematography is superb. Music and BGM suited this superhero movie well and elevated the hero's character. The editing is crisp but could have been trimmed a few more minutes to make it better. Production values by Warner Bros is superb. Director Jaume Collet-Serra should be appreciated for bringing out a well-made superhero film from DC. He took the routine superhero template but narrated it in an engaging manner. Had he narrated in a Novel manner without Cliches then things could have been better. However overall Black Adam is a decent watch on the big screen.

After the Avengers End Game, except for the Spider man series, Marvel movies are coming out with weaker content and mediocre movies. DC movies are lagging behind Marvel and trying their best to get back into the game. DC is trying hard by experimenting with new movies with a stellar cast and crew.
Black Adam is highly anticipated as Dwayne Johnson played the protagonist Anti hero role. The movie started off well with Adam's back story, but when it comes to the present day, the story moved along similar lines to all previous superhero movies. The movie has some routine scenes and cliches from past movies. Post interval there is a lag of 10-15 minutes which bores the general audience. But the movie came back on the track during penultimate scenes and ended with a powerful climax. This movie is no different and just like any other superhero movie with uniqueness. But the screenplay and narration are engaging and had their moments. If you are super hero movie lover then you will love this film. Even the general audience can also be entertained which makes Black Adam a decent watch.
