Box Office: Kantara Set To Cross 300 Crores Gross Worldwide

Bengaluru, October 31 - Hombale Films' adventure action thriller film Kantara is turning out to be the biggest Indian blockbuster of 2022. Made in a budget of just approx. 16 crores, the Rishab Shetty-starrer film has broken many myths in the post-covid era and has turned into a rage at the box office.

Before the release of the film on September 30, everyone was talking about how "Kantara" will stand amid the biggies as trade pundits were predicting that it might wrap up under 50 crores lifetime gross collection.



It took the opening of under 3 crores gross at the domestic box office and it looked like it may not make much with such an opening, however, everyone had little idea that it was going to conquer the box office like no one else.

The movie got huge appreciation from the audience and critics alike which transformed into a massive box office result and now, after its 5th weekend, "Kantara" stands near 300 crores gross at the worldwide box office, which is nothing short of a dream for the makers.

Written and directed by Rishab Shetty himself, "Kantara" was released in other languages after two weeks of the Kannada version, and the response from other dubbed versions, especially from Hindi and Telugu has been unprecedented. Both Hindi and Telugu versions are nearing 100 crores gross within 3 weeks.



The Hindi version of "Kantara" is a rampage mode as it scored 42.95 crores net in just 17 days. It will cross "KGF's" lifetime Hindi total today or tomorrow and will become the 8th biggest South Indian movie in Hindi version. The lifetime collection of "Kantara" Hindi is looking to finish over 65 crores net.

Overall, "Kantara" has grossed approx. 290 crores worldwide in 31 days of its release and may breach the 300 crores mark by tomorrow or a day after to become the second consecutive film for Hombale to reach the milestone after "KGF 2", which is the highest-grossing Indian film of 2022.
