Mumbai, July 2 - Netflix's global hit series Stranger Things 4
has set a new weekly streaming record in the USA, according to Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings. Season 4 of this science fiction horror drama series has already become the most-watched English series on Netflix with over 930 million viewing hours.
According to Nielsen, "Stranger Things" scored 7.2 billion viewing minutes for the week of May 30-June 5, which is the highest weekly total for any streaming title since the advent of weekly rankings almost two years ago.
Nielsen counts all episodes of a series in totaling its streaming rankings, but it is certain that the majority of the 7.2 billion minutes of "Stranger Things" came from the seven episodes of season four released on May 27.
"Stranger Things" series also has the biggest two-week tally for any streaming show with 12.34 billion viewing minutes. It was watched for 5.14 billion (including more than 75% from S4) minutes in the week of May 23 - May 29. It is also the only series with over 7+ billion viewing minutes in a single week.
Nielsen's streaming ratings cover viewing on TV sets only and don't include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences, not those in other countries, and currently only include Apple TV+, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, and Prime Video.
