Mumbai, March 16 - The audiences demand, and keeping the present scenario in mind, the threequel of the iconic comedy franchise "Hera Pheri" has been greenlit by the makers and the shoot for the same will kickstart in the second half of 2023.
The movie will see the original trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal returning to their iconic roles of Raju, Shyam, and Babu Rao. Farhad Samji has been attached to direct this highly anticipated comic caper.
"Hera Pheri 3" is not the only film that is being revived by producer Firoz Nadiadwala as efforts have been made to develop the sequels to "Awara Pagal Deewana" and "Welcome". It was recently reported that after "Hera Pheri 3" (may title "Hera Pheri 4"), Naidadwala will start "Awara Pagal Deewana", and now, Suniel Shetty has confirmed the same.
During a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the Bollywood star, who played the role of Yeda Anna in the original film, said that he is excited to reunite with Akshay and others for APD 2 as well.
"I love the character of Yeda Anna because he is tough but forgetful and that in itself is a comedy. I am looking forward to meet Yeda Anna, Chotta Chattri (played by Johnny Lever), and Guru Gulab Khatri (played by Akshay Kumar) again. I am looking forward to play all my iconic characters again", Shetty said.
Shetty also confirmed that Firoz Nadiadwala has plans to make "Welcome 3" which might roll out in late 2024. It is not, however, confirmed that Shetty will himself be a part of the film as a new addition to the franchise.
