Samantha Ruth Prabhu Reveals Why She Chose Acting As A Profession
Mumbai, July 22 - South Indian beauty who will soon be venturing into the Hindi film industry, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the most popular actresses in the country. Sam has proved her worth as an actor by doing versatile roles in South Indian cinema.
Samantha recently appeared on filmmaker Karan Johar's talk show "Koffee With Karan". The actress made her debut on the show alongside Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar. Sam opened up on many things about her and also revealed that acting was not on her plans as a career.
During the show, Sam revealed that she chose acting as things were hard at her home. "I didn't have a choice actually, coming into this profession, because things were hard at home", she said. "We didn't have much money to study further. But then... I am really glad. When my father said no, I can't pay your loans, that changed my life forever", she added.
The "Majili" has been in news for her divorce from ex-husband Naga Chaitanya. The media had accused Sam of asking for alimony from the Akkineni family. Opening about the same on the show, Sam said that the worst thing she has read about herself is that "I took Rs 250 crore in alimony". Adding further, she said, "First they made up the story about the alimony, Rs 250 crores. Then they realized that this doesn't seem like a believable story".
Meanwhile, Samantha will soon be making her Bollywood. She has reportedly been paired with Ayushmann Khurrana. She will also be headlining Aditya Dhar's magnum opus "The Immortal Ashwatthama" opposite Vicky Kaushal in the title role.
