The big-budget period action drama film, directed by SS Rajamouli, depends a lot on Hindi biz for its overall verdict. The opening day box office numbers (20.07 Cr.) came above industry projection and set things up nicely for the very good opening weekend.
On its second day, "RRR" witnesses a jump of approx. 30% for an estimated 25-27 crores net, pushing total domestic net collection to approx. 46 crores for the Hindi version. With Saturday biz, "RRR" has more than doubled "Radhe Shyam's" lifetime Hindi total of approx. 22 crores in just 2 days.
If the Saturday estimates come in the projected line, "RRR" may become the second biggest South Indian movie after "Baahubali 2" (40.2 Cr.) on the 2nd day. Prabhas-fronted "Saaho" had scored 25.2 crores. Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer "2.0", which had released on Thursday, had scored 25 crores on Saturday (3rd day).
The opening Hindi weekend of "RRR" is now projected to reach 70+ crores, and by the end of the first week, it is expected to breach the 100 crores net mark to become the 98th Hindi movie to achieve the milestone.
