Mumbai, May 7, 2021: Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Pan India movie, Liger was announced a couple of months back with a release date of September 9, 2021. However, due to the second wave of the covid-19, the shot of the film has been put on hold, which has resulted in the postponement of the release date of the movie.
According to reports, a lot of shoot for Liger was left when the restrictions were imposed in the Maharasthra state due to the second covid-19 wave. And now, given the current circumstances, makers are not sure when will things get back to normal, and hence, the September release date won't be possible.
The report further stated that Liger will not be releasing on the OTT platform as Karan Johar, who is one of the producers of the film, doesn't want a large-scale Pan India movie to release on the digital platform.
Directed by Puri Jagannadh, Liger is a Hindi - Telugu bilingual movie in which, Deverakonda will be speaking his own Hindi lines. It is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Johar, Charmme Kaur, and Puri Jagannadh while makers have also roped in Hollywood stunt choreographer Andy Long and his team for the film.
