Mumbai, May 3, 2021: Due to the second covid-19 wave, many Bollywood filmmakers considering changing the release plans of their upcoming movies. Among them, Salman Khan starrer Radhe has already opted for simultaneous release in theaters and on digital platforms on May 13.
And now, according to reports, Kriti Sanon starrer "Mimi" is also heading for direct-to-digital release. It is said that producer Dinesh Vijan wanted the movie to release in theaters, but the second wave has now quashed all his plans.
Vijan has reportedly inked a profitable deal with a leading streaming platform, for which the official announcement is expected to come out soon.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Mimi is loosely based on the Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy! (2011). It stars Kriti Sanon as a surrogate mother alongside Pankaj Tripathi, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak.
