Mumbai, August 3 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's most-awaited film Jawan is getting bigger and bigger with each passing day.
It was recently reported that director Atlee, who is making his Hindi debut with this film, and Shah Rukh Khan are looking to bring the best South talent on board the movie and reportedly approached Vijay Sethupathi to play the villain.
Now, Vijay Sethupathi has been confirmed to lock horns with SRK and he will be playing the main villain in the film. Vijay Sethupathi has been in the red hot demand to play the gray roles in films since "Vikram Vedha". His performances as a villain in "Master" and "Vikram" have been largely appreciated.
Sethupathi's publicist, Yuvraaj confirmed the development via Twitter. "This is to clarify that #VijaySethupathi sir is doing a negative role only in #ShahRukhKhan sir's Jawan at this point and that he is not playing a negative role in any other Telugu projects as is being speculated", he wrote.
Vijay Sethupathi is one of the actors who don't go after big films, but when King Khan himself approached him to play the role in "Jawan", the talented actor couldn't refuse it and immediately came on board. Vijay Sethupathi will reportedly join the next schedule of the film in Chennai at the end of August.
Shah Rukh Khan is simultaneously shooting for Rajkumar Hirani's "Dunki" and will resume the "Jawan" shoot in the second half of August. Meanwhile, "Jawan" already has a solid star cast on board, including lady superstar Nayanathara as the female lead along with Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, and Yogi Babu in key roles while Deepika Padukone is said to be making a cameo appearance.
"Jawan", produced by SRK and Gauri Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, will be hitting worldwide theaters on June 2, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
