New York, 31 October - At NXT Halloween Havoc, Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes engaged in an intense battle, trading powerful moves such as German suplexes, kicks, and strikes. The match saw multiple near falls and moments of high tension. Hayes attempted a La Mistica but fell short of victory.

In this hard-fought contest, Hayes and Ilja went back and forth. Just as it appeared Hayes might take the upper hand, Trick Williams' music distracted him. Ilja seized the opportunity and secured the win with a superplex, followed by Torpedo Moscow for the three-count.



Following the match, Trick Williams entered the ring and stood over Carmelo Hayes, while Baron Corbin was seen holding the title belt and standing over Ilja Dragunov.

Williams had initially been scheduled to participate in a fatal four-way match for an NXT Championship opportunity against Ilja Dragunov at NXT Halloween Havoc. However, he was attacked backstage before the match and taken to the hospital.

Later in the show, Hayes defeated Dijak and Corbin to earn the title opportunity. Now that Trick is back in action, it appears he will soon be back in the title picture.
