Sanjay Dutt Roped In For Director Puri Jagannadh's 'Double iSmart' With Ram Pothineni

Hyderabad, July 28 - Director Puri Jagannadh is back to his directorial duty with the sequel to his blockbuster movie "iSmart Shankar" after the disastrous result of "Liger".

The sequel, titled "Double iSmart" was officially announced earlier this year while the regular shoot was recently commenced in Hyderabad. Ram Pothineni is reprising his lead role from the original movie and this time, the makers are making the movie for Pan India audiences.



Now, the makers have roped in Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt to play the antagonist role in the film as Big Bull. The official announcement was made on July 29 with the first look poster of the actor. It marks Sanjay Dutt's third Telugu movie after Prabhas-fronted upcoming horror-comedy "Raja Deluxe", and "Chandralekha" (1998) in which he played a cameo role.

Sanjay Dutt has been in demand for South Indian films. The actor played the antagonist in Yash-fronted "KGF: Chapter 2" which turned out to be one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time. He is also playing a prominent role in Thalapathy Vijay's "Leo" which is scheduled to release on October 19 this year.

Meanwhile, "Double iSmart" is produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmy Kaur under the banner of Puri Connects. The makers will soon announce the lead actress along with the music director. The movie is scheduled to release on March 8, 2024, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, languages.
