Mumbai, March 9 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's suspense thriller Drishyam 3 is reportedly in the works and the scripting is said to be underway already for the same. It has been one of the most successful franchises and is hailed as director Jeetu Joseph's finest writing work.
Drishyam is one of the Malayalam films that worked when it was remade in other languages also. Ajay Devgn, who has led the Hindi remake of the franchise, has tested big success with it. The Abhishek Pathak-directed Hindi version of "Drishyam 2", which was released last year, grossed over 340 crores worldwide.
It was recently reported that the threequel to Drishyam will be shot simultaneously in both Malayalam and Hindi languages. Mohanlal will reprise his role in the Malayalam version while Ajay Devgn will return in Hindi.
It is said that the makers want to keep the freshness of the story for the Hindi audience. There is an opinion that if the Malayalam version releases first, many people might see it already and it won't be a fresh story for them in Hindi.
According to India Today, Ajay Devgn was very confident about Drishyam 3 and was happy with the whole franchise. It is said that the basic script of the Malayalam version will be shared with the Hindi filmmakers so they can add their own touch and cinematic value to it.
Meanwhile, Ajay is currently busy with the promotion of his action thriller "Bholaa" which is scheduled to release on March 30.
