On Wednesday's AEW Dynamite, it was announced that Kota Ibushi and PAC would be participating in the Blood & Guts match scheduled for July 19. The show concluded with a segment where PAC was revealed as the last member of the Blackpool Combat Club team. They attacked Kenny Omega from The Elite. In response, Omega announced that Kota Ibushi would be the final member of The Elite's team. Hangman Page and The Young Bucks came to Omega's aid.

The official lineup for next week's Blood & Guts match is now set. The Elite, consisting of Omega, The Young Bucks, Page, and Ibushi, will face off against the Blackpool Combat Club, which includes Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Konosuke Takeshita, and PAC.

Ibushi's highly anticipated AEW debut in the Blood & Guts match marks his return to the ring after a hiatus since March 2023. During that time, he competed at events such as Josh Barnett's Bloodsport and Joey Janela's Spring Break for GCW. Prior to his absence, Ibushi suffered an injury during the G1 Climax finals for NJPW in October 2021. He went through an extensive recovery process and had a dispute with the NJPW office, ultimately leading to his departure from the company in January of this year.

Ibushi and Omega have a rich history together as The Golden Lovers, with five tag team title reigns across various promotions in Japan. They faced The Young Bucks in a tag match at NJPW Strong Style Evolved in Long Beach, California, back in March 2018. Since December 2018, Omega and Ibushi haven't teamed up.

As for PAC, his last matches took place in March 2023 at ScrapperMania events in England and Ireland. He previously wrestled for AEW in January, participating in the final match of the best-of-seven series between The Elite and Death Triangle for the AEW World Trios Championship.
