The WWE landscape witnessed the return of the formidable tag team, Authors of Pain (Rezar & Akam), during the New Year's Revolution edition of WWE SmackDown. Their reemergence was marked by a calculated assault on Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins).

Karrion Kross, accompanied by the returning Paul Ellering, joined forces with AOP in this unexpected alliance. AOP's devastating Super Collider incapacitated The Street Profits, while Kross asserted his dominance by laying out Bobby Lashley.



The groundwork for this alliance was laid on the December 22 episode of WWE SmackDown when Kross cryptically hinted at the need for "authors" to craft his grand proclamation.

It's noteworthy that Authors of Pain, former NXT and WWE Raw Tag Team Champions, were released by WWE in September 2020. However, reports from Fightful Select indicated that they were present at the WWE Performance Center in August 2022 and had officially re-signed before the onset of 2023. Their return signals a renewed chapter in their WWE journey, promising to bring a heightened level of intensity and competition to the tag team division.
