Akshay Kumar To Play Lawyer In The Biopic of C Sankaran Nair For Dharma Productions

Mumbai, June 13 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is all set to don the black coat once again as he will reportedly be headlining the biopic of a lawyer, C Sankaran for Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The movie was announced in June 2021, and the makers have now locked Akshay for the role.
It is reported that Akshay was always the first choice of Dharma Productions to play the role of C Sankaran. While the official announcement of Akshay's inclusion is yet to be made, it is said that the paperwork has finally been done and he is officially on board to star in the movie.
C Sankaran Nair was the former President of the Indian National Congress and a member of the Viceroy's Executive Council who fought the legal battle against the British Raj to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. Sankaran Nair's bravery ignited the freedom struggle across the country and is a testament to the power of fighting for the truth.
The film is inspired by real-life events and adapted from the book "The Case That Shook The Empire" written by Sankaran Nair's great-grandson, Raghu Palat, and his wife, Pushpa Palat. It will be directed by Karan Tyagi in his directorial debut. Ananya Panday is said to be the female lead and it will be her first film with Khiladi Kumar.
Akshay Kumar, meanwhile, is already working with Dharma Productions on the Hindi remake of the 2019 Malayalam film "Driving License", titled "Selfiee". The upcoming movie is directed by Raj Mehta. It will be Akshay's 4th film with Dharma Productions, including Kesari, and Good Newwz.
