Mumbai, September 1 - It hasn't been a sweet comeback for Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan as his Laal Singh Chaddha turns out to be a shocker for the actor with its dismal box office performance. Even with over 130 crores worldwide, the movie badly underperformed considering the high stake involved in it.
"Laal Singh Chaddha" was largely affected by boycott calls from a section of people who claimed to have been hurt by Aamir's past actions through his movies. The actor did apologize before the release and now, after the film's box office failure, Aamir has shared a video note via his production house, seeking forgiveness if he has ever hurt people's sentiments in any form.
The video note was recorded by someone else's voice, which begins by saying, "Michami Dukkadam" - an ancient Indian Prakrit language phrase which means may all the evil that has been done be in vain".
"We are all human, and mistakes are made by humans. Sometimes by words, sometimes by actions, sometimes unconsciously, sometimes in anger, sometimes in jest, and sometimes by not talking. If I've ever hurt your heart in any way, I ask for forgiveness from my heart and soul. Michami Dukkadam".
Directed by Advait Chandan, LSC is a remake of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which itself is an adaptation of the novel of the same name. The movie is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Studios and also stars Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya (in his Hindi film debut), and Mona Singh in prominent roles.
