SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' Scores 3 Nominations For Saturn Awards 2022

Los Angeles, August 13 - Maverick filmmaker, SS Rajamouli's global blockbuster RRR continues to win accolades all over the world. The period action drama film has been massive word-of-mouth hit overseas and now, it has been nominated in the three categories of the 47th Saturn Awards 2022.

The Saturn Awards have unveiled nominations for their 50th-anniversary edition, with the organizer, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films saying that the ceremony to reveal winners is set for October 25 in an event that will be livestreamed on ElectricNOW, as per Deadline.



Rajamouli's "RRR", starring Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn, among others, has been nominated for the Best International Film along with Best Action Adventure Film categories while Rajamouli gets the Best Director nomination.

Marvel Studios dominated this year's noms in the Film and Streaming categories with movies like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Thor: Love and Thunder, Sony’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, as well as Disney+ series like Loki, WandaVision, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, What If? and Ms. Marvel.

"RRR" has been nominated with "Death on the Nile", "F9: The Fast Saga", "No Time to Die", "Top Gun: Maverick", and "West Side Story" in the action-adventure category while in the best international film category, the movie shares the honor with "Downton Abbey: A New Era", "Eiffel", "I'm Your Man", "Riders of Justice", and "Silent Night".

Rajamouli, on the other hand, will compete with Guillermo del Toro (Nightmare Alley), Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), Jordan Peele (Nope), Matt Reeves (The Batman), Steven Spielberg (West Side Story), and Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) in the best director category.
