Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Chennakesava Reddy' Creates All-Time Re-Release Record In The USA

Los Angeles, September 24 - Veteran Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna's 2002 blockbuster Chennakesava Reddy is continuing the Telugu movies' re-releases success formula at the box office.

Directed by V. V. Vinayak, the action drama film, "Chennakesava Reddy" is completing twenty years of its original release on September 25. The makers have planned special shows across Telugu states and in the USA on September 24 to celebrate this special occasion and the response has been phenomenal, to say the least.



Hailed as one of the biggest hits in Balakrishna's career, CKR has created an all-time record for a Telugu re-release movie at the USA box office. As per trade reports, the film was released in 39 locations in the USA and so far grossed $39,054 from 82 shows and sold approx. 3120 tickets. This is said the all-time record for gross collection and number of tickets sold.

The film is produced by Bellamkonda Suresh under the Sri Sai Ganesh Productions banner. It stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in a duel role as Chennakesava Reddy/Bharath Reddy, along with Tabu, and Shriya Saran in prominent roles. Mani Sharma composed the music.
