Mega Blockbuster 'Vikram' Set To Top A Massive Milestone of 400 Crores Worldwide

Chennai, June 27 - Kamal Haasan's blockbuster return to the movies with Vikram has brought cheers to the Tamil film industry. The movie has not only surprised the industry trackers but also exceeded the expectations of the makers by putting up once in lifetime kind of show at the box office.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagraj, the action thriller movie has completed 24 days in theaters since its release on June 3rd. It opened with a bang at the box office and scored a whopping opening weekend of 110.80 crores gross in India, which is the biggest for a Tamil movie in 2022. It received excellent reviews, probably the best for any movie this year, from critics and audiences alike which resulted in huge box office numbers.



"Vikram", after taking a huge opening, continued its excellent run over the weekdays and further. It is now nearing a massive milestone of Rs. 400 crores gross at the worldwide box office, which is looking inevitable. It currently stands at 392.15 crores globally, including 272.15 crores at the Indian box office through 4th Sunday. Overseas, it has minted approx. 120 crores.

Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, "Vikram" has already become the highest-grossing movie ever in Tamil Nadu by crossing "Baahuabli 2". It has so far scored 167.8 crores gross in the home state, which is a monumental achievement. In Kerala also, "Vikram" is the biggest Tamil movie and has grossed 37.8 crores till now.

"Vikram", which is the second film in director Lokesh Kangaraj's cinematic universe, will become only the second outright Tamil movie of all time to reach 400 crores worldwide gross, after Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's "2.0", which had grossed 744.78 crores in 2018. "Vikram" also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil in prominent roles.
