Mumbai, September 8 - The young Bollywood superstar Kartik Aaryan is in top form and will headline the third installment of the superhit Aashiqui franchise, to be directed by Anurag Basu. The announcement of Aashiqui 3 was made a couple of days, and since then, there has been a lot of chatter regarding the lead heroin of the film.

The makers had to take to social media to dismiss all the rumors about the leading lady opposite Kartik in this musical romance movie. Meanwhile, the makers are looking to cast a top name to play the female lead role, and according to the latest reports, Kriti Sanon, Shraddha Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone are in the race to bag the role.



Shraddha Kapoor played the female lead in "Aashiqui 2" opposite Aditya Roy Kapur and the movie became a huge hit on both - the music and the box office front. It is possible that the maker lock Shraddha for the next film in the franchise and at the same time, Kriti and Deepika are also being considered seriously.

"Aashiqui 3 is slated to go on floors in 2023 and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to have a formidable cast in place. All the permutations and combinations need to fall in place before a formal announcement is made. By year-end, the female lead of Aashiqui 3 is expected to be locked", a source told Pinkivlla.

Aashiqui has been one of the most loved Bollywood film franchises and with the casting of Kartik Aaryan, it is expected to reach newer heights. Kartik has become a very popular name among the youth and he continues to build his fan following with each passing film.
