Mumbai, February 1 - Director Siddharth Anand is on cloud nine after delivering the biggest blockbuster of his career, "Pathaan", starring India's biggest superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The movie has become a runway blockbuster with a worldwide gross collection of close to 650 crores in just 7 days.
"Pathaan", also starring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone is part of Yash Raj Films' ambitious spy universe, which also included Salman Khan's "Tiger" franchise and "War" starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. Siddharth Anand is the creator of "War" and "Pathaan".
The next film in the spy universe is Salman Khan's "Tiger 3", which is slated for Diwali 2023 release. Maneesh Sharma's directorial will also have a cameo of SRK as Pathaan, much like Salman's Tiger in the latest blockbuster. There hasn't been any other film announced yet in spy universe after "Tiger 3", but Anand teases there might be some spin-offs as well as sequels next.
"There's a plethora of possibilities out there that we can do in terms of overlaps, creation of new characters and spin-offs", Anand said. "I'm sure Adi [Chopra] has some plans. And in time, he'll unveil them".
The blockbuster filmmaker recently hinted at the sequel to "Pathaan" and "War" during the media interaction after "Pathaan's" historic blockbuster. Siddharth is currently busy with "Fighter" with Hrithik and Deepika. He is also in discussion with Prabhas which might start next year.
