Akshay Kumar's 'Soorarai Pottru' Hindi Remake Gets A Theatrical Release Date

Mumbai, March 21 - The Hindi remake of Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru has been confirmed to release in theaters, putting all the rumours about the direct-to-digital release to rest.

The Akshay Kumar-fronted drama movie, directed by Sudha Kongara, will be hitting worldwide theaters on September 1, 2023. The yet-untitled movie also stars Radhika Madan as the female lead along with Paresh Rawal in a key role.



Produced by Suriya and Jyothia's 2D Entertainment in association with Vikram Malhotra's Abundantia Entertainment and Cape of Good Films, the movie has been in production since last year. There were rumors that it would be a direct OTT release as a limited series but the makers have stuck to the conventional theatrical release.

The story of the original movie featured a small-town man who dreams of starting his own airline. This ex-air force pilot fights the odds to realize his dream and in the process ends up experiencing a business adventure of a lifetime.
