Akshay Kumar Talks About Raksha Bandhan Clashing With Aamir Khan's 'Laal Singh Chaddha'

Mumbai, June 22 - Two movies releasing on the same day are no longer seen as a threat to their box office potential, thanks to the circumstances created by the covid-19 pandemic. One such clash will take place during the Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan week in the form of Akshay Kumar's "Raksha Bandhan" and Aamir Khan's "Laal Singh Chaddha".

Akshay Kumar, who released the trailer of his movie on June 21, does not see his movie coming on the same day as LSC, a clash, and hopes that both films do well at the box office. The actor stated that because of the covid-19 pandemic, many movies couldn't release and such things will happen for some time.



"Two movies releasing in the same week is natural, so I wouldn't say we are clashing, we are trying to bring out films to the people. I hope both the films have a good run", Akshay said at the trailer launch event.

Directed by Anand L Rai, the trailer of "Raksha Bandhan" has become the talk of the town. It is the perfect mixture of comedy, and drama revolving around a brother and his four sisters. Bhumi Padnekar, who is playing the female lead as the love interest of Akshay's chactor, managed to shine in a nearly 3 minutes long promo.

Produced by Cape Of Good Films, and Colour Yellow Productions, the movie stars Sadia Khateeb, Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, and Smrithi Srikanth as Akshay's sisters while Seema Pahwa is also in the movie. It is scheduled to release on August 11 worldwide.
