SS Rajamouli To Make His First-Ever Appearance At An American Festival

Los Angeles, September 7 - The maverick Indian filmmaker, SS Rajamouli is making his way to his first-ever US festival. The filmmaker will be hosted by Los Angeles' Beyond Festival, which has announced today the presence of RRR filmmaker as part of a special Tollywood programming, "From Tollywood to Hollywood". ## Built-in partnership with the American Cinematheque, the special programming will honor the revolutionary Indian director, featuring Rajamouli's multiple films presented in their native Telugu language with English subtitles, including Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Eega, Maryada Ramanna, and Magadheera. ## According to the Los Angeles Times, the first-ever official US festival visit of Rajamouli could also kick-start "RRR's" Oscars campaign, which has been hyped heavily by the Hollywood media. While Rajamouli has delivered blockbuster after blockbusters, he got international recognition after the recently released epic action film "RRR". ## Rajamouli will also be available for a Q&A session which will be held after a nine-hour marathon of Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and Eega, taking place on Saturday, October 1. Powerstar Pawan Kalyan's Film With Director Surender Reddy To Start Next Year!

Hyderabad, September 7 - On the occasion of Power star Pawan Kalyan's birthday last year, director Surender Reddy announced his maiden film with the superstar. It was supposed to roll out in early 2022, however, due to unknown reasons, further development on the movie never took place. ## It has been more than a year since the movie, tentatively titled PSPK 29, was announced. Reports claimed that the movie has been shelved over creative differences but that is not true as the producer of the film has finally provided the next course of development for the movie. ## Ram Talluri, who will produce this action drama film, recently said in an interview that the movie will happen for sure and that it has not been called off. He stated that it was temporarily put on hold due to Pawan Kalyan's busy schedule with movies and his political ambitions. ## The producer also stated that Surender Reddy is currently busy with his next film titled "Agent" with Akhil Akkineni. That movie is scheduled to release later this year and after he is done with Agent, Surender Reddy will shift his attention to the film with Pawan Kalyan. 'Liger' Distributor Backs The Movie Despite Heavy Losses

Hyderabad, September 5 - Vijay Deverakonda's sports action drama film, Liger has tanked at the box office. This resulted in heavy losses to the distributors who bought the movie at high prices. The Puri Jagannadh-directed film was made on a big budget and was expected to do well at the box office, but that didn't happen. ## "Liger" opened to disastrous reviews from critics who slammed the movie left, right, and center, as if the movie didn't deserve to exist. Because of the critics' reviews, the movie couldn't gather any momentum after the opening day and ended up with just a 20% recovery of total investment. ## With such a poor response to the movie, it would be fair to assume that the distributors across languages are upset with the makers. However, this is not the case as Warangal Srinu, who bought the entire South Indian rights of "Liger", has backed the movie despite facing heavy losses. ## Warangal Srinu has said that "Liger" is a good film except for the climax. A lot of portions in the movie were excellent, except for the climax of the film. Box Office: Pawan Kalyan's 'Jalsa' Re-Release Worldwide Collection

Hyderabad, September 3 - Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan's all-time blockbuster Jalsa returned to the big screen to celebrate his birthday. The special shows of Trivikram Srinivas-directed action comedy were arranged across Telugu states and international locations on September 1 and 2.## "Jalsa" was re-released on over 500 shows worldwide, which is an all-time record for an Indian movie as far as the special shows are concerned. The movie also did exceptionally well at the box office and brought in higher numbers than most of the new releases opening day numbers. ## The movie collected approx. 2.60 crores gross in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, including approx. 1.26 crores from the Nizam area while the rest of India's collection of the movie is around 20 lakhs. Hyderabad, September 1 - The Tollywood film industry has re-introduced an 8-week theatrical window for all the films, releasing after September 10th. The decision was taken by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce after multiple meetings over the last couple of weeks. ## The Telugu film chamber also announced in a statement that a film's satellite and streaming partner will not be mentioned in the film titles/theatrical release publicity. ## It has been observed that filmmakers revealed their films' satellite and OTT partners before the start of the film in theaters, which may have tempted moviegoers to wait for the OTT release of the film which was within 28 days of theatrical release till now. ## The film chamber has also decided to cancel the per-day payment system for the artists/technicians from September 10th. Vijay Deverakonda's 'Liger' Fails Badly To Do Justice To The Massive Hype

Mumbai, August 30 - Vijay Deverakonda had a chance to include himself in the elite league of Telugu stars and could have extended Tollywood's dominance at the box office with his sports action drama, Liger, but things turned out otherwise. ## The Puri Jagannadh-directed film was one of the most hyped Indian films of 2022 and it could have made big even with the mixed reception, but Alas!... it opened to one of the poorest responses in 2022 from audiences and critics which dismissed its chance to score big on the opening day itself. ## "Liger" took the biggest opening for Vijay Deverakonda's film, but from the second day onwards, the movie crashed badly and couldn't grow further, even on Sunday. SSMB28: Mahesh Babu To Commence The Shooting Of Trivikram's Film From September 8

The movie has Pooja Hegde in the female lead role and this marks her second film with Babu after Maharshi. ## "SSMB28" has been in the pre-production work for quite some time now and was supposed to kickstart the filming in August 2022. Box Office: Karthikeya 2 Becomes The 10th Highest-Grossing South Indian Film In Hindi

Mumbai, August 29 - Telugu blockbuster Karthikeya 2 continues to mint money at the box office and is racing towards the 100 crores mark at the box office. In the dubbed Hindi version, the Nikhil Siddharth-starrer film has become the 10th biggest South Indian grosser of all time. ## Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the mystical action adventure film witnessed a solid hold over the third weekend and scored 4.42 crores net. The total net collection of the movie in the Hindi version has now reached approx. 25 crores, which makes it the 10th biggest South Indian film in the dubbed/direct Hindi version. ## "Karthikeya 2" has overtaken R Madhavan's "Rocketry: The Nambi Effect", which was a Hindi-Tamil bilingual movie, to become the 10th biggest film. Mumbai, August 27 - Vijay Deverakonda's sports action drama Liger collets in the similar range as Friday on its first Saturday at the domestic box office, scoring an estimated 7.50-8.50 crores net for all languages. The Puri Jagannadh could have dropped further but got the benefit of tomorrow being a Sunday. The Hindi version once again collects more than the Telugu's with an estimated 4.50-5 crores net. Box Office: Karthikeya 2 Overtakes Radhe Shyam In Hindi

Mumbai, August 26 - Actor Nikhil Siddhartha's blockbuster Karthikeya 2 has surpassed Prabhas and Pooja Hegde's Radhe Shyam's lifetime collection in Hindi languages. Radhe Shyam, which was released earlier in March this year, couldn't do justice to Prabhas' stardom in the Hindi version and ended up collecting only approx. 19.50 crores net. ## "Karthikeya 2", which opened to nothing numbers of just 7 lakh but grow significantly with each passing day after getting excellent reviews and super positive word of mouth. It scored 5.75 crores net in the opening week, followed by 13.52 crores (+235%) net in the second week. The total Hindi collection of the movie after 14 days reached 20.11 crores.## There is no comparison between Radhe Shyam and Karthikeya 2 as the Prabhas-starrer movie was made on a huge budget and scale against K2, which has been made at a fraction of the budget of RS. However, it was the content, where Radhe Shyam fell flat whereas Karthikey 2 has been hailed as one of the best Telugu films of the year, resulting in, it also making huge noise in the dubbed Hindi version as well. ## Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Abhishek Agarwal and T.G.Vishwa Prasad, "Karthikeya 2" is following the trend of Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rise" in the Hindi version. While Pushpa's lifetime Hindi collection is way out of reach for Karthikeya 2, it still can end up with an excellent lifetime collection. ## "Karthikeya 2" has had a good run at the USA box office so far with over $1 million gross. The Puri Jagannadh-directed sports action drama film scored 15.5 crores net on the first day, including 13.80 crores in Telugu. Box Office: Vijay Deverakonda's 'Liger' Underperformed Despite Record Opening

Hyderabad, August 26 - Vijay Deverakonda's sports action drama Liger was released in theaters yesterday (August 25) and it was a day of mixed feelings for the makers. ## Directed by Puri Jagannadh, "Liger" opened to record-breaking (as expected) box office numbers for a tier-2 Telugu film, but at the same time, the makers must be preparing themselves for what they are going to get in the future, at least for the most important Telugu version. ## "Liger", which had a very good pre-release buzz, remained underwhelming despite taking the biggest opening for Vijay Deverakonda with an AP/TG share collection of 9.14 crores, worldwide is approx. 24 crores. ## Puri Jagannadh described the movie as his best project to date, however, upon its release, the film got very poor reviews from critics while the audience's word of mouth is also not so encouraging which is clearly visible in the opening day numbers that were expected to be around at least 35 crores worldwide. ## The future of this Pan India film is looking blink, especially knowing the fact that the stakes involved in it are high. "Liger" has been valued at approx. 90 crores worldwide, but going the current trend, the stakeholders will be hoping for miracles to happen to recover even 50% of the total investment. ## It's not all doom and gloom for "Liger" as of now as other versions, including Hindi, will get the full-fledged release from August 26 onwards.
