Filmmaker Karan Johar Heaps High Praise On Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal'
Mumbai, January 2 - Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga set the box office on fire in 2023 with an A-rated action drama Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri. ## The film did not only rise above expectations at the box office but it also proved to be a critic-proof. However, unlike critics, the conviction of storytelling from Sandeep Vanga was largely accepted by the paying audiences who hailed it as one of the best movies of 2023. ## Among the very people from the Bollywood industry, who openly admired SRV and Animal, filmmaker Karan Johar is the one who has heaped high praise for the movie and called it a game-changer. Appearing on the Galatta Plus pan-India roundtable, K Jo openly admitted his love for the film. ## "I loved Animal for its front-footed, absolutely conviction-based narrative, breaking grammar, breaking myths and breaking everything that you conform to in mainstream cinema", the filmmaker said while admitting that he might get "dirty looks" for saying that. ## The star producer-director also heaped high praise on director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and called him a genius for his "distinct and individualistic" vision. "What I love about Sandeep, is he has a popular song, he plays it and he stops it whenever he wants to, he takes it when he wants to, he cuts the scene when he wants to, it’s like he is telling his story with such conviction", he added.## "Animal", produced by T-Series with Bhadrakali Pictures, revolves around a toxic father-son relationship, where the son goes on a vengeful rampage after an assassination attempt on his father.
