Box Office: Shaitaan Second Day/First Saturday Early Estimates

Mumbai, March 9 - After a very good start at the box office with close to 15 crores net, Ajay Devgn-fronted supernatural thriller Shaitaan jumps by over 20% on Saturday which is again a very good result for a thriller genre, backed by positive word of mouth. ## On its second day/first Saturday, Shaitaan scored an estimated 18-19 crores net collection, pushing the total to around 33 crores net in two days. The first weekend is heading to be around 55 crores which is a fantastic collection. ## The jump of over 20% today is quite impressive as it came after a partial holiday on the film's first day due to Maha Shivratri which boasted the collection. The thriller genre is something which lacks ground in mass centres but here, the Ajay Devgn factor is working wonderfully and the movie is also doing well outside multiplexes. ## The longevity of Shaitaan lies on its Monday hold but early signs are promising and in all probability, the movie is up for a very good ride at the box office. The 100 crores net club will be the minimum target for the movie. ## Meanwhile, Yami Gautam-fronted political thriller Article 370 sees a big jump of over 60% on its 3rd Saturday for an estimated 2.50-2.75 crores net. Box Office: Shaitaan First Day/First Friday Early Estimates

Mumbai, March 8 - Ajay Devgn-fronted supernatural thriller Shaitaan is off to a very good start at the box office. The Vikas Bahl's directorial, riding high on critics' reviews, surprises by exceeding trade expectations. ## According to early estimates, Shaitaan scored around 14-15 crores net collection which is a very good start for a thriller genre. The movie showed signs of a good start through pre-sales but strong walk-ins throughout the day, especially in evening and night shows, pushed the collection to a very good level. ## The traditional Friday release of the film benefitted from the Maha Shivratri holiday in some parts of the country. The very good opening has set the stage for the film for a fantastic weekend which could be around 55-60 crores net. Box Office: Article 370 Scores Good Second Week

Mumbai, March 7 - Yami Gautam-fronted political thriller Article 370 has had a very good second week at the domestic box office, holding 60% of the first week total. The movie put up a consistent performance throughout the second week. ## After scoring 15.25 crores net in the second weekend, Article 370 remained over the 1.50 crores mark during the weekdays and added another estimated 6.75 crores net from Monday to Thursday for around 22 crores net in the second week. This takes the total collection to around 57.50 crores in two weeks. ## Article 370 has done well so far as it has its limitations as far as the audience is concerned. Maharashtra has been the top contributor, followed by Delhi, and Gujarat as these three states accounted for over 50% of the total collection so far. ## Going forward, the film will have competition in the form of Shaitaan starring Ajay Devgn. Ajay Devgn's 'Shaitaan' Advance Booking Status And Opening Day Box Office Expectations

Mumbai, March 7 - After the good first two months of 2024, the Hindi film industry has now pinned its hope on Ajay Devgn-fronted supernatural horror thriller Shaitaan to continue the momentum at the box office. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film also stars Jyothika, R. Madhavan, and Janki Bodiwala in key roles and is scheduled to release on March 8.## Shaitaan has been able to generate a decent buzz, thanks to the genre and well-received trailer. The booking for the film was opened a couple of days back and though it is not over the roof it is still decent considering the horror genre which has a limited audience. ## As of 3 PM on March 7, the pre-sales gross collection of Shaitaan for the opening day is around 2.50 crores with close to 110K tickets sold. The final pre-sales of the movie are expected to finish around 3.50 crores for the opening day which will be a decent response. ## The pre-sales of Shaitaan are more or less similar to Sam Bahadur and Dream Girl 2 though the genre of both these films was different. Given the booking trend, the Ajay Devgn-starrer opening could be somewhere around Dream Girl 2 which scored 10.69 crores net. The walk-ins, given the positive word of mouth, are expected to be better than the aforementioned two films, plus the Ajay Devgn factor also boasts the chances.## There is a holiday on March 8 on account of Maha Shivratri which will further strengthen the film's opening day box office prospects so the start in the range of 10-13 crores is very much on the card. Mumbai, February 29 - Jio Studios and B62 Studios' political thriller Article 370, starring Yami Gautam and Priyamani in the leading roles, scored a good first week at the domestic box office, scoring over 35 crores net collection.## The movie, based on the real events that led to the abrogating of Article 370 in J&K, was released on February 23 and opened to a good collection of around 5.9 crores at a discounted price. Blockbuster 'Drishyam' Franchise To Be Remade In Hollywood

Mumbai, February 29 - The blockbuster Indian suspense thriller film franchise Drishyam is set to be remade in the English language. India's Panorama Studios has joined hands with U.S. companies Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films to bring the movie to Hollywood. ## Drishaym was originally made in Malayalam language, starring superstar Mohanlal in the lead role. It was remade in Hindi with Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead roles in 2015 and later, a sequel in both languages released in 2021 and 2022, respectively. ## Panorama Studios produced the Hindi version and also acquired the international remake rights to Drishyam 1 & 2 from the original producers, Aashirvad Cinemas. Mumbai, February 28 - After lending in the top five most-watched films worldwide in its opening weekend, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's comedy-drama Dunki remained one of the most-watched non-English films on Netflix for the second consecutive week. ## Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki scored 11.1 million viewing hours from 4.2 million views during the week of February 19 - February 25 and was the third most-viewed non-English film worldwide. The movie was made available to stream from February 15 and it scored 13 million viewing hours from 4.9 million views in the first 4 days. ## Dunki has so far scored 24.1 million viewing hours from 9.1 million views, making it one of the most-watched Indian films on the streamer in the first 11 days. Mumbai, February 27 - Bollywood star Ajay Devgn team up with director Neeraj Pandey for a romantic thriller film titled Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. The movie also stars Tabu in the female lead role alongside Jimmy Shergill and Saiee Majrekar in key roles. ## Produced by NH Studioz, Friday Filmworks, Panorama Studios, and Reliance Entertainment, AMKDT has been juggling to get a release date. Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki' Final Worldwide Box Office Collection and Records

Mumbai, February 27 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh marked his return to the big screen in 2023 with mega-blockbuster Pathaan in January, followed by ever-bigger success in the form of Jawan in September, and by the end of the year, the actor scored another success in the form of Dunki. ## Dunki was supposed to be SRK's biggest movie due to his maiden collaboration with Maverick director Rajkumar Hirani. However, the comedy-drama couldn't come close to the actor's previous two movies though it ended up as a successful venture due to a controlled production budget. ## Released during the Christmas 2023 weekend, Dunki scored approximately 29 crores net upon its Thursday opening but the film couldn't show much growth from thereon during the weekend. It still scored a good first-week collection of 160 crores net but due to the mixed word of mouth, the movie dropped heavily in the second week to around 46 crores net. ## Dunki competed with Prabhas-fronted action drama Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire and the holdover Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor. The movie, however, kept pushing at low levels and eventually was able to cross 200 crores net collection, which can be termed decent given the genre but a lot was expected from the SRK and Rajkumar Hirani combo. ## The movie also underperformed at the overseas box office with an estimated 182 crores. Mumbai, February 25 - Yami Gautam-fronted Article 370 has had a very good first weekend at the domestic box office, scoring around 23 crores net over 3 days. In an encouraging sign, the films showed good growth over the weekend. ## According to early estimates, the political thriller minted 9.50-10 crores net collection on its first Sunday. The jump is around 25% from Saturday collection of approximately 7.50 crores net which is a very good improvement for a movie with limited audiences. ## It will be a litmus test for the movie on Monday which is considered a make-or-break day as far as the box office prospects. Box Office: Article 370 and Crakk Second Day/First Saturday Early Estimates

Mumbai, February 24 - After a good first day, Yami Gautam-starrer Article 370 shows a very good spike of around 30% on its second day. The jump today is a huge positive sign for the film as the opening day collection came due to discounted prices but today the film has normal rates. ## According to early estimates, the political thriller scored an estimated 7.50 (+/-) crores net collection, taking the total cume to approximately 13.40 crores net in two days. The movie has set itself up for a big Sunday as the first weekend looks to be around 22-25 crores net. ## The opening of the film was encouraging with discounted ticket prices but there were doubts about whether it could hold the collection with normal rates. Not only has the movie shown a very good jump with regular prices but also indicates a long run though a lot will depend on Monday's hold. ## Meanwhile, Vidyut Jammwal's sports actioner Crakk, after the good first day with discounted prices, dropped on its second as it scored an estimated 2.75-3 crores net collection. Though a drop was expected with normal rates as initial word of mouth for the movie is mixed, it would have been nice had it finished close to the opening day figures which is not the case. ## The total collection after two days is around 7 crores net.
