Ayushmann Khurrana's Socio-Political Thriller 'Anek' Sets March 2022 Release Date In Theaters

Mumbai, October 22 - Actor Ayushmann Khurrana's socio-political thriller film "Anek" has been confirmed to be hitting theaters on March 31, 2022. The supremely talented and versatile actor reunites with renowned director Anubhav Sinha for this one of its kind film. It will be produced by Bhushan Kumar and Anubhav Sinha under T-Series and Benaras Mediaworks. ## Ayushmann took to Twitter and shared a new still from the film. Mumbai, October 21 - As Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming cop-drama film "Sooryavanshi", the talks about the box office potential of the film have started making noise. In normal times, this Rohit Shetty directorial could have easily become the highest-grossing film of all time for Akshay Kumar, but because of the covid-19 pandemic, things have become uncertain so is the box office success. ## However, despite the current circumstances, the movie is expected to do very well at the box office. The recent data by Ormax media suggests that the confidence among movie lovers has increased significantly to visit cinemas for the first time in the pandemic era. The success of the country on the vaccination front has also ensured that things are getting back to normal and visiting cinemas is safe for the public.## Meanwhile, there is chatter among the biz analysts and fans regarding the box office potential of "Sooryavanshi" and how much the film could make on its first day. For Akshay Kumar, "Mission Mangal" holds the record of taking the biggest opening at the box office with Rs. 29.16 crores net in India. ## Breaking "Mission Mangal's" record may not be possible for "Sooryavanshi" as there are many factors are currently against it including the 50% seating cap in theaters. Karan Johar's 'Takht' To Go On Floors After 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani', Confirms The Filmmaker

Mumbai, October 21 - It has been a long time since filmmaker Karan Johar announced his passion project "Takht" and even announced the star cast of it. The historical drama film was supposed to hit the floors in March 2020, but the covid-19 pandemic spoiled the party and the movie was put on hold indefinitely. ## With no development since the announcement, many thought the filmmaker might have dropped the idea of making this film. However, it was recently reported that the movie is still on and will take off at the right time. And now, the filmmaker himself clarified that "Takht" has not been shelved and will go on floors after his ongoing film "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead. ## In a conversation with Film Companion, Karan Johar explained the reason behind the project getting delayed and also said that it will be his immediate next film after the currently on floors, romantic-comedy RRKPK. "No, I am going to make that movie right after Rocky Aur Rani. I can't let that getaway. That film is a piece of my heart. It's got two and a half years of my prep work on it. We were rearing to go", Karan told. ## "I still remember we were starting on April 24 when the pandemic hit us in March. The film was so vast, voluminous and on a large scale, that on a daily basis, it needed a thousand people on set. It was that kind of film", he added. ## Calling the film his passion project, Karan further said, "I will always say, Rocky Aur Rani is my excitement project, but Takht is my passion project. The latest development is that the movie has been titled "Bull", which is set in the 1980s and inspired by events from the life of Brigadier Bulsara.## "Bull" will jointly be produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Amar Butala and Garima Mehta's Guilty By Association. Govil has become synonymous with the character of Lord Ram after playing the iconic role in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 TV show. ## Directed by Amit Rai and produced by Ashwin Varde and Akshay Kumar, "Oh My God 2" is the follow-up to the 2012 blockbuster film starring Akshay and Paresh Rawal in the leading roles. The sequel will feature Akshay reprising his role of Lord Krishna with Pankaj Tripathi stepping into the shoes of Paresh Rawal. Mumbai, October 16 - Legendary filmmaker Ramesh Sippy along with dream girl Hema Malini appeared in Amitabh Bachchan hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 as special guests for the 'Shaandaar Shukravaar' episode. The iconic trio remembered the good old days of "Sholay" which is considered a benchmark film in Indian cinema.## During the special episode, Sippy, who directed the iconic "Sholay" (1975) revealed that why he chose Hema Malini for the role of Basanti and how did he think about 'Jai-Veeru' played by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra respectively. ## "See, Hema Ji in her first film with me had portrayed the role of a young widow and in the second film, 'Seeta Aur Geeta', she surprised us. So, for the role of 'Basanti', I felt that no one can do it apart from her", the filmmaker told Big B. ## "Also, there was one more thing. When we completed 'Seeta Aur Geeta' and it became successful, it is then when we decided whatever I make after this, Dharam Ji, Hema Ji, and Sanjeev Ji must be there. And as the script of 'Sholay' was shaping up, it was fitting perfectly", he added.## Ramesh Sippy, who directed Big B in three more films after "Sholay", further revealed how he thought of Jai-Veeru and who suggested him to pick Amitabh Bachchan who wasn't a big star at that time. "We had 'Veeru', he was there in the last film, too. So, there was one thing that I had thought about is that we have three superstars and if I get one more superstar, it would be difficult for me, only".## "So, then I thought I need a good actor, who does good work and becomes a team. Because when Salim-Javed suggested Amit Ji for this role, saying there's one 'Amitabh Bachchan' who's doing good work and is working with us in 'Zanjeer'. I said ok, that's good. And, then I thought that he's not a star at the moment so I won't have that problem that there's one more star on the set", he said. ## The filmmaker also said that Big B did a great job in "Anand" and then "Bombay to Goa". He also remembered the dance by Big B in a bus in the film "Bombay to Goa" and got the idea of picking Big B. "I felt this seems to be an actor who can do anything. So, he will be able to give us what we want. That's how the casting was done", he added.## To all that Sippy said, Amitabh acknowledges and responded: "Thank you very much, Sir".
