Both Warner and Smith are currently playing in Indian Premier League for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals respectively. On the other, the inform middle-order batsman Peter Hnadscomb and pacer Josh Hazlewood have been overlooked for the World Cup.
It was always on the card that someone will have to make way for Warner and Smith and unfortunately, Handscomb despite his brilliant recent form couldn't hold his spot. Mitchell Starc has also been included into the squad after recovering from injury.
