Mumbai, June 14, 2021: Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom is one of the most awaited films. The movie was originally slated to release on April 2, 2021, however, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the makers forced to postpone it to May 28, which again got hit by the pandemic.
The delay was not accounted for and also resulted in a spike in the budget of Bell Bottom. Considering that the movie mainly caters to tier 1 and 2 cities, the makers want to keep the budget in check so that it can recover when it releases.
According to Bollywood Hungama, producer, Vashu Bhagnani requested Akshay Kumar to scale down his acting fees by Rs. 30 crores, for which, according to the report, the actor agreed as he is aware of the on-ground scenario. The report also stated that Akshay had initially charged Rs. 117 crores for acting in Bell Bottom, which is now reduced to Rs. 87 crores.
Meanwhile, it took few minutes for Akshay Kumar to burst the scoop of reducing fees for Bell Bottom. He took to Twitter and calls the article a Fake scoop. "What waking up to FAKE Scoops feels like!", Akshay reacts to Bollywood Hungama's Scoop article.
Bell Bottom is directed by Ranjit M Tewari and produced by Pooja Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment. It also stars Vaani Kapoor, Lara Dutta, and Huma Qureshi in other prominent roles.
