Hyderabad, August 6 - It was a massive Friday for the Telugu film industry, which has been the most productive Indian film industry post-pandemic but was going through a dry spell for the last two months at the box office.
Amid the clueless situation, Telugu cinema bounced back strongly thanks to Bimbisara and Sita Ramam. Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's Bimbisara particularly has had a sensational start and exceeded all the expectations on the first day at the box office.
The fantasy action film directed by debutante Vashist scored an excellent 8.90 crores net (10.4 cr. gross). This is the career-best opening for Kalyan Ram. His previous career best was director Puri Jagannadh's, Ism (2016).
Bimbisara has taken a giant step in becoming the next big blockbuster film in Telugu states. It grossed a massive 6.30 crores share in AP/TG and it has already recovered 50% investment on the first day itself. It was valued at approx. 13 crores in AP/TG and close to 15 crores worldwide.
The film, in all likelihood, will recover its full investment in the opening weekend itself as word of mouth is super strong and the advance booking for the remaining weekend is also good. It will be the first Telugu hit since Major and is going to be a blockbuster in full run.About This Movie
