'Pushpa 2' Beats 'Kalki 2898 AD' To Score Biggest Overseas Opening Weekend of 2024

Mumbai, December 8 - Allu Arjun's mega-blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule has beaten Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD to score the biggest opening weekend for an Indian title of 2024 at the overseas box office while also claiming the biggest weekend ever for an Indian film globally.

Pushpa 2 is estimated to score $19+ million (161+ crores gross) in its 4-day weekend, beating Kalki's $17.75 million (150+ crores gross) and it will most likely finish the year as the number 1 weekend grosser of the year which will be the first time in Allu Arjun's career.



Directed by Sukumar, the blockbuster has stormed the North American box office and scored an estimated $9.50 million during its extended opening weekend, including Wednesday previews. It is the second-biggest first weekend of 2024 in NA after Kalki which minted over $11 million in its first 4-day weekend.

The worldwide box office collection of Pushpa 2 is close to 800 crores gross in the historic first weekend which is by far the biggest ever for an India title. It might break into a 1000 crores club in the first week itself, if not then the second weekend for sure and will become the second Indian movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Kalki.
