Bollywood actor Harshvardhan Rane has officially come on board the upcoming action thriller Force 3, continuing the legacy of the franchise led by John Abraham. The Force franchise began in 2011 with Force, directed by Nishikant Kamat. John Abraham played ACP Yashvardhan “Yash” Singh, alongside Vidyut Jammwal as the antagonist Vishnu Reddy and Genelia D’Souza as Maya. The film, a remake of the Tamil hit Kaakha Kaakha (2003), was praised for its intense action sequences and grounded portrayal of police officers.

Its sequel, Force 2, released in 2016 and directed by Abhinay Deo, took the story to a global espionage stage. John Abraham reprised his role, joined by Sonakshi Sinha and Tahir Raj Bhasin, with the narrative revolving around RAW agents being targeted internationally.
