Director Ahmed Khan Reveals Release Date Plans For Akshay Kumar's Welcome To The Jungle

Mumbai, November 15 - Superstar Akshay Kumar's comedy entertainer Welcome To The Jungle is back in the media headlines with exciting updates. The movie has been in production since last year and is finally in the last leg of filming.

During a recent interview with Pinkvilla, director Ahmed Khan officially confirmed that Suniel Shetty is part of the film and will reprise his role as Yeda Anna from Awaara Paagal Deewana. The confirmation came as an exciting update, as it might pave the way for a crossover between characters and lead to the next instalments of the franchises.

As the shoot of Welcome To The Jungle is nearing its end, fans are eager to know when the film will be released. During the same interview, Ahmad Khan revealed that the team is almost at the end and will wrap the filming by January. He said that they are planning to release the film by mid next year, around June and July.

The choreographer-turned-filmmaker further revealed that Welcome 3 is "a black dark situational humour. It's not a comedy. Firoz Nadiadwala believes in dark humour and situational humour. And of course, it's serious cinema: not a comedy or slapstick".

Produced by Firoz Nadiadwala, the third instalment of the blockbuster franchise features one of the biggest star casts in Indian cinema. Apart from Akshay and Suneil Shetty, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Johnny Lever, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Rahul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi, and Yashpal Sharma.
