De De Pyaar De 2 Day 3 Early Estimates: Ajay Devgn-starrer Ends Opening Weekend On Positive Note

Mumbai, November 16 - Ajay Devgn's much-awaited romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2, co-starring Rakul Preet Singh and R. Madhavan, has wrapped up its opening weekend on a reasonably positive note at the domestic box office with good collection on Sunday.

While the film didn't witness a bumper start, the steady upward trend has given it a decent platform as it steps into the crucial weekday phase. After opening to around 8.75 crore net, a slow beginning for a sequel backed by a major star presence, De De Pyaar De 2 managed to recover some lost ground on its second day with a 40% jump, earning around 12.25 crore net on Saturday.

The momentum continued on Sunday as well, with the film showcasing around 15% growth, bringing in an estimated 13.50-14 crore net. With this, the opening weekend total stands at a decent 35 crore net, positioning the movie on a fair note despite the shaky start.

A better opening could have given a strong platform for the film to end the first weekend on a strong note, but still, it is a decent total given fatigue around franchise films. Now, all eyes shift to Monday — a decisive day that will determine whether the film can translate its weekend trajectory into long-term success.

For De De Pyaar De 2 to emerge as a clean commercial winner, it must maintain a strong hold during the working days and avoid major drops. The opening may not have met pre-release expectations, but the weekend trend definitely keeps the film alive in the race. A stable Monday could well mark the film's journey toward success — but a sharp fall could make the run difficult.
