MS Dhoni Refused To Charge Fees For Mentoring Indian Cricket Team In T20I World Cup

Mumbai, October 13 - The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) surprised one and all when it announced that former India world cup winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be part of the Indian Cricket Team during the ICC T20I World Cup in UAE and Oman as a mentor.
Dhoni's inclusion as a mentor made the cricket fraternity and fans happy as he has been one of the most loved sportspersons around the world. And now, Dhoni has given another reason to the sports fraternity to be proud of him as he will not be charging any fees for his service to the Indian team.
Speaking to news agency ANI, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said the legend wouldn't be charging anything for his new role. "MS Dhoni is not charging any honorarium for his services as the mentor of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup", he said.
The 40-year-old Dhoni retired from international cricket last year, his last India game being the 2019 World Cup semi-final, which the team lost to New Zealand. It is believed that Dhoni was brought in for his experience in devising near-perfect white ball strategies.
However, after retiring from international cricket, MS Dhoni continuing to play for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Under his leadership, CSK will be playing its 9th IPL final on October 15. In the previous 8 finals, Dhoni-led CSK to win 3 IPL trophies while on 5 occasions CSK was the runner-up.
Meanwhile, the T20I World Cup will begin on October 17. Team India will kick start their campaign on October 24 against arch-rivals Pakistan. The final is scheduled to be played on November 14 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
