Mumbai, July 16, 2021: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the group for the forthcoming Men's T20 World Cup 2021, to be hosted by the BCCI in Oman and the United Arab Emirates from 17 October to 14 November.
Hosts India has been placed in Group 2 of the Super 12s stage with arch-rivels Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and two qualifier teams. England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, and two more qualifier teams will form Group 1 for the tournament. India, Pakistan in the same group means both teams will face-off for the first time in more than two years, their last fixture having come in the 2019 50-over World Cup.

However, the schedule of the tournament is yet to be announced.
Both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will have to go through the qualifying tournament. Sri Lanka has been placed in Group A with Ireland, Netherlands, and Namibia while Bangladesh will face Scotland, Papua New Guinea, and Oman in Group B. The groups were formed according to T20I rankings as of March 20, 2021.
