Since the shelter-in-place edict was issued back in March, everyone has been missing their favourite TV shows as the production of TV series came to a halt during the initial lockdown.

A daily dose of entertainment through various Tv shows has been a part of Indian family life for the last two decades. Sudden shut down in the production of these TV shows have immediately impacted the lives of millions of viewers across the country. Housewives have been looking forward to the resumption of their favorite shows and so have been the kids and the elderlies. In comedy and thriller shows even men had their favorites and they too have been missing these shows for long.

Finally, in the month of July, various TV networks started beaming fresh new episodes of TV shows into Indian homes which have impacted many lives in a positive way, helped people curb anxiety and desperation, healed broken minds and hearts. These TV shows are now helping people stay at home in ease during the lockdown.

IFTPC talks about their decision to resume shooting is primarily to help the workers and their families financially and also to keep the entertainment quotient high considering the increase in cases of anxiety and depression. Further, the successful resumption of television production has again given hope to the entire nation that soon all businesses soon will start as normal, economy shall be revived and life will be close to as happy as it was earlier.

“Television has touched upon so many sensitive topics. It has brought a change in mindset. People resort to TV in every situation and mood - happy or sad. We are more than happy to resume shooting so that people who are battling depression or anxiety in this lockdown can now watch their favourite shows and be at ease” says IFPTC Chairman TV and Web JD Majethia.
