Superstar Prabhas' Hit Film 'Billa' To Re-Release In Theaters On His Birthday

Hyderabad, August 30 - Superstar Prabhas' one of the biggest hits Billa is getting ready to re-release in theaters. According to the latest development, the gangster film will have its remastered 4K special shows on October 23 to celebrate the 43rd birthday of the "Baahubali" star.

Directed by Meher Ramesh, "Billa" is the remake of the 1978 Hindi film "Don" starring Amitabh Bachchan. It t is the second remake of Don in Telugu after Yugandhar (1979). Prabhas played a dual role in the movie alongside Krishnam Raju, Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Namitha, Rahman, and Kelly Dorjee.



"Billa" was produced by Gopi Krishna Movies and was a box office hit with an AP/TG share collection of approx. 15 crores. The re-release of "Billa" will not make any significant change in the film's lifetime box office as it is getting special treatment only to celebrate Prabhas' birthday and income generated through re-release will be spent on welfare causes.

Telugu audience is one of the most loyal towards their respective favorite stars and time and again, they get the opportunity to celebrate their stars through special shows of blockbuster films. Recently, Mahesh Babu's "Pokiri" also got the same treatment while Pawan Kalyan's "Jalsa" is getting ready for re-release on his birthday on September 2.
