Hyderabad, July 2 - The Hollywood Critics Association has announced SS Rajamouli's "RRR" the second-best film of 2022. The movie was nominated in the Best Picture category along with 9 others by HCA at its midseason awards. It is the only Indian film to be nominated for this award.
A24's "Everything Everywhere All at Once" has been declared the best movie of the year at the 5th Annual HCA Midseason Awards. While "RRR" couldn't grab the award it beat movies like "The Batman", "Top Gun: Maverick", "Cha Cha Real Smooth", and others to get the runner-up position.
"RRR", starring Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, and others was released on March 25 in theaters. It went on to gross over 1100 crores at the worldwide box office and also won critical acclaim. The Hindi version of the film was recently made available on Netflix which further pushed the film's reach beyond boundaries.
For the last few weeks, Hollywood celebrities and critics have been gushing about RRR, making it one of the most talked-about Indian films among Western moviegoers. Such was the huge demand for the movie that it returned to cinemas in some of the locations in the USA and also in the UK, despite streaming on Netflix and ZEE5.
