SS Rajamouli Reveals What Inspires Him To Make Movies Like RRR

Hyderabad, May 29 - SS Rajamouli's RRR is making audiences despite completing 10 weeks of its release. After delivering big at the box office, the period action drama film is making waves on OTT platforms and trending the numbers in many countries.

The western audience is simply in the awe of this cinematic brilliance as they are taking social media to share their experiences. Such a massive response for an Indian movie has not been seen in a long long time among overseas viewers. The overseas audiences, especially from the UK and US, are claiming that they haven't seen such uninhibited, imaginative scenes even in the biggest of Hollywood films.



Making animals run here and there has always been a huge part of Rajamouli's cinema and that is something making the audience go gaga over "RRR". During a recent interview with a Hollywood portal, Rajamouli was asked, "Throwing a leopard at somebody, what action films inspired these incredibly creative action scenes, which are one of your trademarks?"

The maverick filmmaker said, "Like we were saying, Ben-hur, that's one example and Melgibson's films, Braveheart, The Patriot, Apocalypse. Many of his films have a very big influence on me. I get really inspired by his action a lot". He also added that receiving appreciation from western audiences is a big thing for him.

"For Baahubali, we had some appreciation from the Western audience, but it was very small. But for RRR, I have seen a lot of Westerners who were discussing amongst themselves about RRR and how great a film it was.

Produced by DVV Entertainment, "RRR" was released on March 25 and went on to gross over 1120 crores worldwide. It stars Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn along with Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody in prominent roles. The movie recently started premiering on digital platforms.
