'RRR' Beats 'The Batman' To Became The Number 1 Movie At The Global Box Office This Weekend

Mumbai, March 28 - Indian tentpole, "RRR", has had a blockbuster debut at the global box office, lending at number 1 this past weekend (March 25th-March 27th).
The period action drama film, directed by maverick SS Rajamouli, has scored approx. $65.50 million (500 crores) worldwide, including $50.00 million (380 crores) domestically, and approx. $15.50 million (120 crores) at the international box office. The movie beats Robert Pattinson-fronted "The Batman", which generated approx. $46 million during the same weekend.

2. The Batman - $45.5M (346 Crores)
3. The Lost City - $35M (267 Crores)
"RRR", meanwhile, has had the biggest opening day ever for an Indian movie globally with 223 crores, beating Rajamouli's own all-time blockbuster "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", which did 218 crores on the first day in 2017. The latest movie also created all-time records in the first three days in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
At the USA box office, the Jr. NTR/Ram Charan-starrer has scored the second-biggest opening weekend with $9.7 million (74 crores), including $3.3 million Thursday previews. "Baahubali 2" remained the number 1 in the USA with $10.4 million.
"RRR" is a fictional story about two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr. NTR), who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively. The movie stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris in key roles. It is produced by DVV Entertainments.
