Mahesh Babu's All-Time Blockbuster 'Pokiri' To Get Special Treatment For A Noble Cause On His Birthday

Hyderabad, August 8 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's all-time blockbuster and path-breaking film in his career, Pokiri, which was released in 2006, is getting special treatment on his birthday on August 9.

The action thriller film, directed by maverick Puri Jagannadh, will be screened worldwide with over 200 shows tomorrow (Aug 9). It has been 16 years since the film was originally released in theaters, but the craze for this still is huge as almost all the shows in India have been booked.



There have been over 210 shows arranged so far in India and from those, over 1 crore collection is already collected in advance sales. Reportedly, the number of special shows of Pokiri are highest ever for an Indian film.

Meanwhile, there is a noble cause associated with the re-release of the film for one day. It is said that the entire collection generated through special shows will be used to help children's heart operations and education for poor kids through Mahesh Babu Foundation.

Produced by Puri Jagannadh, and Manjula Ghattamaneni, the movie also stars Ileana D'Cruz and Prakash Raj while Nassar, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Sayaji Shinde appear in prominent roles. The plot revolves around a local goon whose killer instincts earn him not only his girlfriend's disapproval and a corrupt cop's enmity but also the attention of a wanted don.
