Box Office: Karthikeya 2 Achieves Break Even Target In Just Three Days

Hyderabad, August 16 - Actor Nikhil Siddharth's Karthikeya 2 has achieved the break-even target in just 3 days and becomes Tollywood's third straight hit. With a worldwide share collection of around 15 crores, the mythological mystery thriller has joined the likes of "Sita Ramam" and "Bimbisara" in delivering big at the box office for Telugu movies in the last two weeks.

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, "Karthikeya 2" has had trouble getting a wide release, which could have helped it to register bigger numbers at the box office. The film was supposed to release last month but was forced to postpone as the makers were not being able to book enough theaters due to other releases.



Despite the limited release, the movie has been able to leave a lasting impact on the audiences which is resulting in houseful boards outside theaters. Such has been the response to the movie that more and more screens are being added with each passing hour as there is a huge demand for the tickets for the film.

Meanwhile, the Hindi version of the film is getting some response at the box office. The movie had just around 60 shows on the first day which shot up to over 700 on its third day in Hindi. The strong positive word of mouth is helping the film attract audiences in a large number, as a result, the film scored over 1 crore gross on Monday. It will get more shows in the coming days and it might end up with an extraordinary lifetime collection.

Produced by Abhishek Agarwal Arts and People Media Factory, the film revolves around Dr. Karthikeya Kumaraswamy, who believes in science and logic, goes to the ancient epic city of Dwaraka along with his mother. While visiting the city, he gets caught up in the murder case of an archeological researcher and eventually gets curious about the events happening around Dwaraka. Along with the archeological researcher's granddaughter Mugdha, he chases around the mystery.

The movie also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Anupam Kher, Srinivasa Reddy, and Harsha Chemudu, among others in key roles.
