Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara' Crosses 300 Crores Gross At The Worldwide Box Office

Bengaluru, November 1 - On the day of Karnataka Formation Day, one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time, Kantara crossed the 300 crores gross mark at the worldwide box office, becoming only the second Kannada film ever to achieve the milestone after "KGF: Chapter 2".

The Kannada film industry has delivered big in 2022 and "Kantara" takes things a notch higher with its phenomenal trading at the box office, not only just in Kannada but also in other languages including Hindi and Telugu. Overseas, "Kantara" is super strong with over 26 crores gross.



Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, who also plays the lead role in the film, "Kantara" crossed the 300 crores mark on its 33rd day, and to think that it took the opening of just approx. 2.25 crores gross, this 300 crores milestone is nothing short of a dream come true moment.

"Kantara" is produced by Hombale Films which earlier delivered the highest-grossing Indian film of 2022 in the form of Yash-fronted "KGF: Chapter 2". The studio now has two 300 crore grossers in addition to "KGF: Chapter 1", which grossed over 230 crores worldwide in 2018.

The film stars Rishab Shetty as a Kambala champion who is at loggerheads with an upright DRFO officer, Murali (played by Kishore). Sapthami Gowda was signed to feature in a supporting role.
