New Delhi, October 18 - Punjabi film, Honsla Rakh has had a fantastic debut at the box office worldwide. After taking the best ever opening
for a Punjabi film in India, the Diljit Dosanjh, Shehnaaz Gill, and Sonam Bajwa starrer finished the 3-day opening weekend on high with Rs. 9 crores India gross.
Overseas, the comedy entertainer added additional approx Rs. 8 crores, making it an Rs. 17 worldwide gross in the first weekend. The movie is currently the 4th highest-grossing Pollywood movie during the covid-19 pandemic and is likely to surpass "Chal Mera Putt 2" in the coming weeks to become the top Punjabi grosser.
Honsla Rakh's large share of the total 3 days collection came from NCR where it has earned approx 2 crores so far followed by Chandigarh (66 lakh), Ludhiana (74 lakh), Amritsar (47 lakh), and Jalandhar (45 lakh). Overall, the movie earned Rs. 2.52 crores on the first day, followed by Rs. 2.25 crores and Rs. 2.85 crores on the second and third day respectively.
Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron and produced by Daljit Thind, and Diljit Dosanjh, "Honsla Rakh" is expected to continue to do well at the box office in Punjab as there is no tough competition at the moment until Diwali 2021 when Bollywood biggie "Sooryavanshi" will release and take over most of the screens in the region.
Meanwhile, the trailer
of Honsla Rakh, which was released on September 27, got a blockbuster response from the fans and became the most-watched Punjabi movie trailer in the first 24-hours. It currently has 25 million views on Youtube.
