On his 60th birthday, the Malayalam film superstar, Mohanlal has announced his one of the most anticipated movies 'Drishyam 2' which is the sequel of his 2013 blockbuster Malayalam movie 'Drishyam' directed by Jeetu Joseph. As per reports, the shooting will commence post lockdown.
FYI, Mohanlal and Jeetu Joseph recently came together for another Malayalam thriller 'Ram' that was officially announced in December last year. The makers of 'Ram' even released the first title poster when the movie was announced. However, in a media interaction a few weeks ago, Jeetu Joseph had revealed that he is going to put a hold on 'Ram'. Instead, he is working on another project that will be 'Drishyam 2' as per the latest reports.
Talking about the 'Drishyam 2', it is the sequel of the 2013 Malayalam drama-thriller film 'Drishyam' that starred Mohanlal along with Meena in lead roles. It was written and directed by Jeetu Joseph and was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas. The film was a blockbuster at the box office.
Drishyam was remade in several other Indian and foreign languages including Hindi and Chinese. The Hindi remake was made in 2015, which starred Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran along with Tabu, Ishita Dutta, and Mrunal Jadhav in pivotal roles. It was directed by Nishikant Kamat and was hit at the box office.
