Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' Non-Theatrical Rights Sold At Massive Price

Chennai, September 12 - Thalapathy Vijay is the king of the box office and his films have always managed to do great collections irrespective of the critics' reviews. Thalapathy carries a huge loyal fan following that never disappoints the superstar whenever his film arrives.

Thalapathy Vijay is currently shooting for his Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Varisu under the direction of Vamsi Paidipally. Needless to say, there is huge anticipation for this movie, not just among the fans but also among the film exhibitors and trade people.



Touted as an action drama film, "Varisu" makers have reportedly sold the non-theatrical rights of the movie and the reported price is approx. 120 crores. According to Telugu media reports, the digital rights have been bought by Amazon Prime Video for 60 crores, and the satellite rights were sold to Sun Network for about 50 crores. T-Series has reportedly acquired audio rights for approx. 10 crores.

"Varisu" is produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Rashmika Mandanna has been paired opposite Thalapathy Vijay to play the female lead. This is the first time when she is sharing screen space with Tamil superstar.

The movie also stars Prakash Raj, R. Sarathkumar, Shaam, Yogi Babu, Prabhu, and Jayasudha in supporting roles. S Thaman has scored the music. The shoot of the movie is expected to be completed by October this year as the movie is getting ready for Pongal 2023 release in Tamil and Telugu.
